What is clinical Pilates?

Clinical Pilates is Pilates taught by a health professional and tailored to your injury, condition or goal. Rather than following a class routine, you work one-to-one on the movements your body needs: core strength and control, mobility and joint stability, posture and balanced strength.

Galina has taught Pilates for more than 25 years. She founded a London studio that combined Pilates rehabilitation with osteopathy, and has presented workshops for other Pilates teachers on low back pain, the sacroiliac joint and abdominal separation after pregnancy.

What makes it clinical

Every programme starts with an osteopathic assessment, so the exercises are chosen for what is actually going on in your body, not a generic routine. Sessions are one-to-one, built around the movements and equipment that suit your stage of recovery, and progressed as you get stronger.

Osteopathy settles pain and restores movement. Pilates rehabilitation rebuilds the strength and control that keep it from coming back. Galina has combined the two for more than 20 years, and you can book either on its own or together.

What a session involves

1

Assessment first

Galina checks how you move and what is driving your symptoms before choosing any exercise.

2

Precise, guided movement

Small, well-controlled movements with hands-on guidance, so you feel the right muscles working.

3

Progressed at your pace

Exercises build as your strength and confidence do, never faster.

4

Homework that fits your life

A few key exercises to practise between sessions, not a 40-minute routine.

Pilates rehabilitation for back pain

Back pain is one of the most common reasons people book. Once osteopathy has settled the acute pain, Pilates rebuilds the deep abdominal, pelvic floor and spinal muscles that support the spine, and teaches you to move in ways that do not overload it.

Pilates after pregnancy

Postnatal Pilates rebuilds core and pelvic floor strength safely, including where the abdominal muscles have separated. Galina has taught other Pilates teachers about abdominal separation and adapts every exercise to your stage of recovery.

Sessions and fees
